For fifty years, the Children of Heaven’s Light has welcomed families seeking healing, sons and daughters seeking belonging, and hearts seeking the peace that only the Path can bring.
Every shadow must first be named before it can be released. In the company of the Fellowship, nothing is hidden that cannot also be healed.
“Bring what you carry into the light, and the light will carry it from you.”
The body must be taught what the heart has forgotten. Twenty-one days is the number the Fellowship has always kept — the number Father O’Farrell himself received in vision, and the number we keep still.

Only after Correction does the soul find true Communion — with the Light, and with the family that has been waiting, patiently, for its return.

Robert O’Farrell was called to ministry young, and quickly found that the ministries of his day had grown too timid for the work he felt pressed to do. In 1975, with a small circle of families who shared his conviction, he established the Fellowship’s first sanctuary in the high desert — “far enough from the world,” he liked to say, “that the world’s noise could no longer drown out the Light.”
“I did not come to condemn anyone’s child. I came to finish what confusion left undone.”
Under his hand, the Fellowship grew from a single chapel to a full sanctuary community, known even to skeptics for the completeness of its devotion. Father O’Farrell was famous among his flock for a gift of discernment — families said he could recognize a wayward child’s voice across a crowded room, and never once forgot it.
When the world outside grew hostile to the Fellowship’s work in the winter of 1999, Father O’Farrell chose not to abandon the family he had built. He walked into the Refining Fire with his flock rather than see them scattered by force. The Fellowship holds that his light was not extinguished that night — only returned to its Source, where it watches over the Path still.

Father Robert O’Farrell and a small circle of founding families establish the Fellowship’s first chapel and compound in the high desert.
Families travel from across the country seeking the Path. The sanctuary expands into a full compound of dormitories, chapel, and grounds, largely self-sufficient and closed to outside visitors.
Rumor and scrutiny from the world beyond the gates grow louder. Father O’Farrell tells the flock the noise is proof the Path is working.
Facing a world the Fellowship believed no longer capable of understanding its purpose, many of the faithful chose to return to the Light together rather than see the sanctuary broken apart by force. Father O’Farrell walked into the flame with his flock. The Fellowship remembers this night not as an ending, but as the final teaching.
Survivors of the sanctuary carry the Path quietly, in ones and twos, in living rooms and kitchens, waiting for the Fellowship to be ready to gather again.
Under the guidance of the Second Shepherd, the Children of Heaven’s Light reconstitutes — smaller, humbler, and no longer bound to a single compound — carrying the same Path forward for a new generation of families.
The Children of Heaven’s Light no longer keeps a single sanctuary. Today the Fellowship gathers in small circles, in homes and rented halls, wherever families are searching. If yours is one of them, someone is always listening.
